A memorable day in the Caribbean Sea with friends…and a lesson revisited…what more one needs!
I attended the #TBRUSVI conference this week, and on the last day of my stay, we chartered a boat in the ocean to visit islands in the spectacular #USVI.
As the captain put the boat in full throttle, I went into my Zen thinking about water. I asked the captain why watercolor was different in parts of the ocean. He answered, “Water is just reflecting what is underneath. The light blue means sand is at the bottom, and dark blue is where the sea grass covers the ocean bed.”
The response immediately reminded me of my prior writing on the issue and sparked a lot of deep thinking. I noticed that the water surrenders to the air on top and lets it define the magnitude and intensity of waves.
Water tells us not to identify with anything. Embrace whatever comes your way as part of yourself because everything we can see and feel is part of this cosmos. Identification with who you are, nationality, religion, intelligence, institution, or even relationship is the source of all problems. Take cosmic identity like water.
